Sistani does not support any side in election – IHEC

NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: The Highest Shiite clergy represented by Sayyid Ali al-Sistani on Sunday called on Iraqis to participate in the upcoming provincial election, stressing that he does not support any one side in particular, according to the head of the Independent High Electoral Commission’s (IHEC) board. “Sistani stressed his support of the electoral process,” Faraj al-Hayderi said in a press conference in Najaf after meeting Sistani. “He said that he stands within the same distance from all political entities and candidates, and does not support any side in a special way,” al-Hayderi added.
