Sistani welcomes Talabani’s return to Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Supreme Religious Authority, Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, welcomed the return of the President, Jalal Talabani, to Iraq after undergoing a medical surgical operation in Germany.

A statement by the Presidency received by IraqiNews.com cited “Sistani’s office phoned Talabani, on last Tuesday, conveying Sistani’s welcome to Talabani’s return after a medical treatment.”

“Sistani’s office confirmed his wishes for Talabani to achieve success for his efforts to settle the disputes in Iraq,” the statement added.

“Talabani’s office expressed his gratitude and thank for Sistani for his concern,” the statement concluded.

Earlier, Talabani arrived, on last Monday evening, in Sulaimaniya province coming from Germany after completing a medical treatment there.
