SLC delegation, Talabani discuss issue of withdrawing confidence from government
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President, Jalal Talabani, received a delegation of the State of Law Coalition, comprising Hassan al-Sinied and Abdul Halim al-Zihieri, in Sulaimaniyah province on Tuesday.
Presidential statement cited “The delegation congratulated Talabani for the 37th anniversary of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, wishing the development and more achievements to the PUK.”
“The two sides discussed the political process and the obstacles that face it, where Talabani confirmed his efforts to settle the current crisis,” the statement added.
Regarding the issue of withdrawing confidence from the government, Talabani assured his attitude about this issue and confirmed that he “will not send the request to the parliament until he makes sure that all signatures are true,” according to the statement.
“For thier part, members of the delegation appreciated Talabani’s efforts and his national role to protect the constitution and preserve the gained achievements,” the statement concluded.
