SLC MP: Belief of involving constitution in political deals, results in political crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Saad al-Mutalibi, of the State of Law Coalition, stated “The belief of some political leaders over involving the constitution in the political deals, is the reason behind the political crisis.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Some think that the Kurds did not adhere to the constitution only in Article (140) where the rest of the articles must be dealt upon or they will be subject to the political deals where this way of thinking has involved Iraq in the political crisis.”

“The political scene is complicated and will continue in this way and I do not know that the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, is ready to submit concessions over re-opening the border inlets that belong to the federal government because they are constitutional basis and allow the forces of the federal government to pass through them to sustain stability in Iraq,” he added.

“We are waiting for the return of the President, Jalal Talabani to start his efforts to call the political leaders to discuss over the reforms,” he pointed out.

“Each initiative that strengthens the political process must be in accordance with the constitution because it is the only document that all agreed upon,” he concluded.
