SLC MP: Maliki has right to hold CoMs’ meeting in Erbil

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ali Hasoun, of the State of Law Coalition stated that the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has the right to hold the meetings of the Council of Ministers in Erbil province.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Maliki has the right to hold the meeting of the CoM in any province in Iraq including Erbil and this is legal issue,” assuring that “Maliki decided, at the beginning of 2012, to hold the meetings of the CoM in the provinces.”

“The constitution allows Maliki to hold the meetings of the CoM in any province even in Kurdistan Region,” he concluded.

MP, Mahdi Haji, of the Kurdistani Alliance revealed that “The Kurd Ministers will boycott the session of the Council of Ministers that will be held in Mosul on Tuesday.”
