SLC MP: Objections behind delay in endorsing Parties law draft

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Haytham al-Jobouri, of the State of Law Coalition stated that “There are many objections that delayed the endorsement of the Parties law draft.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) on Wednesday “The Parties law draft is very important one but the objection was raised during the second reading because the parties belong to the Justice Ministry which is within the Executive Authority where they should belong to the Legislative Authority and be independent.”

“The second problem with this law draft is related to the organizing issues such as nominating the head of the party and setting the regular meetings where this is incorrect issue because each party organizes its interior system and this is a right for the party,” he added.

“Including such organizing issues within the law draft means that the party is not independent anymore,” he concluded.
