Speaker, Salah al-Din council chief take on provincial issues

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Parliament Speaker Iyad al-Samarraie received the head of Salah al-Din’s provincial council and a number of council members to discuss the nature of relations between the council and the operations command in Samarra city. “The two officials discussed the services and the security situation in the province,” the media office of Samarraie said in a statement that was released by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The lack of harmony between the provincial council and Samarra’s operations command was also tackled during the meeting,” the statement noted. Members of the councils have complained about the security measures taken by the command, namely concrete barriers, which they said dramatically affect the life of local residents. Samarra lies 120 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 2
