Sweden to supervise elections in Baghdad, Basra, Arbil, Duhuk, Sulaimaniya

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Rafia al-Eissawi held on Wednesday a meeting with Swedish ambassador in Baghdad, with whom he discussed forming five committees to supervise elections in Baghdad, Basra, Arbil, Duhuk and Sulaimaniya. “The meeting tackled the Kingdom of Sweden‘s contributions in supervising the coming elections as part of the international community’s assertion on its importance and to guarantee its fairness,” said a statement released from al-Eissawi’s office received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The statement quoted the ambassador as saying that five committees have been formed to watch the elections in the five province, noting that he will chair the committee in Basra. The coming parliamentary elections will be held on March 7. SH (P) 2
