Syria dismisses its ambassador to Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Syrian government announced that it has dismissed its ambassador to Iraq, Nawaf al-Faris, after announcing his secession from the Syrian government to join the opposition.

A statement by the Syrian Foreign Ministry cited on Thursday “Al-Faris released statements that are violating his duties to defend Syria and this will result in judicial accountability.”

“Al-Faris left Iraq without getting the permission form the Foreign Ministry as stated in its rules and diplomatic delegations,” the statement concluded.
