Talabani, Maliki discuss political developments

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki discussed on Saturday recent developments in the country, according to a presidential statement. “Talabani and Maliki exchanged views on the challenges facing the political process, the developments in the region and means to enhance Iraq’s regional and international relations,” read the statement as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “I had talks with Prime Minister Maliki on the outcome of my visit to Iran as well as m meetings with Iraqi Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani, former Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG) Prime Minister Nejervan Barzani and leaders of the two leading Kurdish parties,” Talabani was quoted in the statement as saying. He noted that the talks dealt with means to cement the political process, maintain stability in Iraq and cater for the citizens’ demands to offer better services.   AmR (TP)/SR 775
