Talabani, Shiite leader discuss political developments

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani received at his office in Baghdad Ammar al-Hakim, the head of the Shahid al-Mihrab Foundation, to discuss political developments in Iraq. “Talabani and Hakim also took up means to bolster development in all fields,” according to a statement published on the web site of the Shiite Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council (SIIC). Ammar is the elder son of SIIC leader Abdel-Aziz al-Hakim. The statement did not give more details. An offshoot of the SIIC, Shahid al-Mihrab is a socio-cultural organization based in the holy Shiite city of Najaf. It has several branches all over Iraqi provinces. AmR (P) 1
