Talabani welcomes Hashimi’s call to hold urgent PB meeting

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani welcomed Vice President Tareq al-Hashimi’s call to convene an extraordinary Presidential Board (PB) meeting to discuss “political aggravation” in the Iraqi arena after the results of the country’s general elections were announced. “Hashimi sent a message to Talabani and Vice President Adel Abdulmahdi in which he called for an urgent meeting to consider ways to adopt measures in light of the constitutional powers to overcome the current crisis that have negative impact on security and stability in Iraq,” read a press released from Hashimi’s office as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The Presidential Board is awaiting Talabani’s arrival in Baghdad to convene a meeting, hopefully on Monday,” it added.
