Tayfur welcomes revoking Article 23 of elections laws

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Arif Tayfur, welcomed the resolution of the Federal Court to revoke the law Article (23) of provincial councils elections laws.

Tayfur office quoted him in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, as saying ”The Article was illegal and unconstitutional and applied just to satisfy some political sides.”

”On this occasion we congratulate the people of Kirkuk province and urge them to participate in the upcoming elections to choose their representatives, ” he added, stressing that ”We totally promote the joint administration and posts’ distribution among society components basing on their elections dues fairly and without marginalization,”

The Article (23) of the provincial councils election stipulates to distribute the posts in Kirkuk province on three axes among Kurd, Arab and Turkmen.
