Urgent – .Kurdish MP quits membership of Political Prisoners Committee

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Martyrs and Political Prisoners Committee Berzad Shaban announced her resignation from the Committee’s membership.

Shaban said “My resignation came to protest the discrimination in granting the financial and morale rights to the political prisoners inside and outside Iraq.”

“There are many political prisoners who were killed and tortured on the hands of the former regime, but they were not included by the previlages of the Political Prisoners Institution such as those prisoners of Diyarbakir Camp or those who were detained in the Palace of Dohuk, Rawanduz Prison of Faili Kurds and Camp Zewa in Iran, which was bombed by aircraft of the former regime during the Iraq – Iran War as well as other camps,” she added, confirming that “Being unable to compensate this category through my work in the Committee made ??me take this decision,” she pointed out.
