Urgent – .Maliki: Shiite-Kurdish alliance help Talabani wins his post

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, confirmed that the “Shiite-Kurdish alliance was the key that made the Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani, win his current post, noting that it is not the right of the Council of Ministers to declare emergency state without getting the approval of the MPs’ two thirds.”

During a press conference he held at the CoM’s building on Saturday, Maliki said “The Shiite-Kurdish alliance was behind winning Talabani for his post as a President, at a time the Iraqiya Slate refused to nominate him for the presidency.”
