Voting on elections bill before Eid – Lawmaker

BAGHDAD, Sept. 20 (Iraqi News) – Legislature of the United Iraqi Alliance (UIA) Shiite parliamentary bloc on Saturday said that the Iraqi Council of Representatives made an unannounced decision that it is necessary to vote on provincial elections bill before upcoming Eid (Muslims three days festival when they break fasting), referring that negotiations over this issue are heading to a solution. “Pending issues regarding elections bill are not essential,” Abbas al-Bayati told IraqiNews.com – Voices of Iraq – (Iraqi News). “There has been a consensus over the six demands submitted by different sides,” he said. “By the middle of coming week, Parliament will schedule provincial elections bill for voting,” he noted.
