Washington does not interfere in Iraq’s political process – amb.

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The United States is committed to the development of relations with Iraq, the U.S. ambassador in Baghdad said on Monday, asserting that his country does not interfere in Iraq’s political process. “President Obama and his deputy Joseph Biden are committed to develop relations with Iraq and the reconstruction teams will remain in the country after 2011,” James Jeffrey said at a press conference held in Ninewa, attended by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The political process is an Iraqi operation and the United States has nothing to do with it. We believe that the coming government should be a government of national unity and partnership,” he added. “Mosul has witnessed developments and stability in the recent years,” the diplomat said, noting that he discussed with the governor how to develop the province’s economy in the future. Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. SH (P) 1
