Wedding ceremony turns into demonstration

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A wedding ceremony in Mosul City today turned into a demonstration in which guests shouted for the U.S. forces withdrawal, releasing the detainees, create a state of reforms, and combating corruption, security sources reported. The source noted to IraqiNews.com that about 500 persons who were invited to the wedding, including the bridegroom, shouted for reforms, eradication of corruption, and U.S. withdrawal by the end of the year. Poems were recited during the demonstrations by poets who continue to participate in Al-Ahrar Square protests. The square has witnessed since 9 April last many sit-ins that lasted for 18 days repeating the same demands. Mosul, center of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of the capital, Baghdad.
