White bloc calls Maliki, Talabani to settle disputes between them

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The White bloc called the President, Jalal Talabani, and the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to hold a meeting between them to settle the disputes among them.

The Secretary General of the White bloc, Jamal al-Batiekh stated in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Monday “There are some blocs that attempted to create tensions between Talabani and Maliki because they think that any deal between Talabani and Maliki will affect their personal interests.”

“The tensions between Talabani and Maliki are worse than those between Maliki and the president of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani,” he added, noting that “Holding a meeting between Maliki and Talabani is very important to eliminate disturbing the situation.”

He stressed the necessity of “Not dealing with the current issues in a sectarian way, but according to the constitution and preserving the unity of the Iraqi people.”
