Yokhana: Developing relations with Turkey to positively affect Iraq, region

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Emad Yokhana, of al-Rafidain bloc stated that developing the relations with Turkey to positively affect Iraq and the region.

He stated in a press statement received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The visit of the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, to Turkey and the upcoming visit of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, in addition to the visit of the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, are to start a new phase of the relations with Turkey.”

“I hope the development of the relations not to be against the national principles and strategic interests of Iraq especially in the commercial sector,” he added, calling Turkey to “Forget the past and focus on the future by discussing the pending issues and the relations based on the unity and brotherhood between Iraq and Turkey.”
