Zebari, his French Counterpart discuss mutual relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, discussed with his French Counterpart, Laurent Fabius, the mutual relations and the means of developing them.

A statement by the Foreign Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited “The two sides discussed the bilateral relations and the means of promoting them where the political, social and economic issues were also discussed in addition to the adherence of Iraq to face the security challenges.”

“The two sides presented their views regarding the regional updates and the development of the ongoing Syrian crisis that affect the region and the world, stressing the necessity of the independence and neutralism of the Iraqi stance from this crises and his adherence to achieve a political settlement for it to stop the violence,” the statement added.

“The French FM expressed his awareness of the Iraqi stance over this crisis,” the statement pointed out, assuring that “Zebari appreciated the support of the French government to Iraq over relieving it from the Seventh Chapter of the UN’s Charter.”

“The French Minister accepted to visit Iraq in the next period of time, assuring the participation of the French companies in Baghdad International Fair and the interest of France in the participation in the constructional projects and the infrastructure in Iraq,” the statement concluded.
