Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hoshyar Zebari, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Ambassador of Goodwill, Angelina Jolie, discussed the conditions of the Syrian refugees in Iraq and the services presented to them by the Iraqi Government.

A statement by the Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited “Zebari received Jolie and the accompanied delegation as both sides discussed the future governmental plans to improve the humanitarian conditions of the Syrian refugees.”

The statement quoted Zebari as saying “An estimated 21,000 Syrian refugees are living in Iraq’s western Anbar and Dhouk provinces. Another 31,000 Iraqis who years ago fled to Syria to escape sectarian fighting in their homeland have returned.”

Jolie is currently visiting the regional countries for checking the conditions of the Syrian refugees in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq.
