1st businessmen training center in Wassit

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Wassit’s first center for training businessmen and traders has been inaugurated in Kut city, a source from the local Chamber of Commerce said. “Being the first of its kind in Wassit, the center will provide services for traders, businessmen and investors in the province,” the source told IraqiNews.com. Training courses will be organized to improve their capabilities and to acquaint them with the situation in the international trade market. The center will facilitate the provision of loans to owners of small projects, whose capital value does not exceed $26,000 (30 million Iraqi dinars), the source explained. The inauguration ceremony was attended by a number of traders, investors and members of the Chamber of Commerce. A Shiite province, Wassit, 180 km south of Baghdad, is in the east of the country. Its name comes from the Arabic word meaning “middle,” as it lies along the Tigris about midway between Baghdad and Basra. Its major cities include the capital, Kut, and al-Hayy. Prior to 1976 it was known as Kut Province. SS (S) 1
