25 foreign firms in Basra investment conference

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Twenty-five foreign companies have attended a Basra-based conference on investment opportunities in the province, a local official said on Saturday. “The conference was organized by the Basra Investment Commission in cooperation with Amar al-Khayr Organization at Manawi Pasha Hotel,” the head of the commission, Haydar Ali Fadel, told IraqiNews.com news agency. Talks have been held between representatives of the companies and of the oil and gas sectors, in addition to officials from the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), Fadel noted.
