300 housing units for have-nots in Muthanna

MUTHANNA / IraqiNews.com: The province of al-Muthanna is hatching a plan to build 300 low-cost housing units for the impoverished and low-income categories at a cost of 12 billion Iraqi dinars (ID), tantamount to $10 million, the governor said on Tuesday. “The sum was allocated by the Iraqi finance ministry last month to fund a project that should help a large number of families who do not have decent dwelling places,” Riad Majid Duweini told IraqiNews.com. “Each housing unit will be 200 square meters in accordance with estimations. The units will be built in the districts of al-Samawa, al-Rumeitha and al-Khidr,” Duweini said. Samawa, the capital city of al-Muthanna, lies 280 km south of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
