$800 million to develop Sadr City, al-Rasheed St.

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi council of ministers agreed to allocate $800 million to rehabilitate Sadr City, eastern Baghdad, and to develop al-Rasheed Street, central Baghdad, the mayor of Baghdad, Sabir al-Isawi, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The amount will be assigned as part of the 2010 budget,” a release issued by Baghdad Mayoralty and received by IraqiNews.com news agency quoted al-Isawi. The council of ministers had approved a plan called (10×10), which refers to allocating and spending $10 billion over a period of 10 years to rebuild Sadr city in Baghdad. “The allocated amount will be used to execute the first stage of the project to rebuild Sadr City, and to develop al-Rasheed Street,” he said.
