Awadi: Babel receives lowest share of electricity power

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member in the Parliamentary Energy Committee, Awad al-Awadi, announced that “Babel province received the lowest share of electricity current if compared with the rest of provinces.”

Ministry of Electricity denied that by confirming “Babel receive the same proportion just as the provinces, and all problems in power sector in the province, were solved.”

Awadi said in a statement “Babel is among the provinces which receive the lowest provision of electricity despites the fact that it produces plentiful energy of electricity.”

“Provincial Council of Babel demanded 320 MW but what was provided is 290 mw,” noting that “He has submitted a request to the MoE that admitted the injustice experianced by the province and instructed to increase the share of the province by 50 mw,” he added.

“The administrative corruption in the Ministry prevented implementing this order,” he concluded.
