Baiji refinery’s capacity reach 300,000 barrels per day – ministry

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The production capacity of the refinery in Baij reached 300,000, according to an official spokesman of the oil ministry. “The northern refineries’ staff managed to operate the Salah al-Din unit 2, which produces 70 barrels everyday after completing maintenance,” Essam Jehad told IraqiNews.com news agency, noting that the unit’s production was added to the refinery’s production to reach more than 300, 0000 barrels, the highest this year. Output at the 250,000 barrel-a-day Baiji complex, which processes crude into diesel and gasoline, fell by 150,000 barrels after an attack. Apart from the production unit under maintenance due to restart within a few days, a fourth unit was undamaged and continues to process up to 60,000 barrels a day. The government plans to increase production from the Ash Shaabiya refinery in Basra to cover shortages. SH (TP) 686
