Basra council approve projects

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The Basra Provincial Council approved several projects in the province including one to support tomato growers, according to the council deputy chief on Thursday. “The project envisages a ban on tomato imports into the province during harvest season,” Ahmed al-Seleiti told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The council also approved a project to clean the city at 3 billion Iraqi dinars monthly and another project to restore 12 schools in different area of the province at a cost of nearly $1 million,” he added. The oil-rich port city of Basra lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
