Basra, Japanese officials discuss 5 projects

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Basra‘s governor and a Japanese diplomat in Iraq on Wednesday discussed five important projects in the province. “The projects can be 58 percent funded by the Japanese government, and 42 percent from Iraqi government,” a local media source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that the Japanese diplomat also met with the Basra‘s Operations Commander to take a closer look at security situation in the province. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad.
