Basra official meets Brit diplomat on water issues

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Basra’s First Deputy Governor Nazar Rabeaa al-Jabberi met on Sunday with Douglas McMillan, the British deputy consul in the province, to discuss the drinking water crisis in Basra. “Basra needs to rehabilitate most of its water projects,” al-Jabberi said in a release issued by the Basra local authority. He said that the process requires huge funding. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad. MH (P) / SS 1
