Big Faw Port underway

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The Foundation stone of the Big Faw Port in Basra will be laid within the coming few weeks, the Iraqi transportation minister said on Wednesday. “The Ministry is within the final stages to sign a contract with Italian firms to execute the port,” Minister Amir Abduljabbar said during his visit to Basra. He said that the Ministry also has plans to develop other naval ports. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad. MH (P) / SS 1
