Cabinet approves oil contract with Leighton Offshore

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq‘s cabinet approved a $733 million contract on Tuesday for oil export expansion to Leighton Offshore Private Ltd, Iraq‘s government spokesman said. The project, for which Foster Wheeler won a project management consultancy (PMC) services contract in July, is expected to boost Iraq‘s oil export capacity from the southern city of Basra to 3 million barrels per day from 1.8 million bpd now, government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency.
