Canceling contracts with Kurdistan RegionG enables firms to make future bids

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi minister of oil on Thursday said that the termination of oil contracts with the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG) will enable companies to bid for future contracts in Iraq. “Minister Hussein al-Shahrestani received the Korean ambassador to Iraq, Ha Taeen, and discussed with him means of boosting bilateral relations,” according to a ministerial statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The conclusion of such contracts violates the Iraqi constitution and law,” the minister explained. “That was why two Korean companies were deprived from bidding for future contracts.
