CBI dollar sales down by 48%

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Central Bank of Iraq’s (CBI) dollar sales went down by 48 percent to reach $85.780 million in its daily auction on Wednesday, compared to $176.200 in the previous session. “The demand hits $3.150 million in cash, covered at an exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars per dollar, and $82.630 million in foreign transfers outside the country, covered at an exchange rate of 1,173 Iraqi dinars per dollar,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by IraqiNews.com news agency. None of the 11 banks that participated in today’s session offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. MH (P)/SR 1
