CBI sells $699m this week

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) dollar sales went down this week to reach $699.178 million compared to last week’s $839.565 million. “This week’s demand hit $17.350 million in cash, covered by the bank at an exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars per dollar, compared to last week’s $30.010 million, while foreign transfers outside the country hit $681.828 million, covered at an exchange rate of 1,173 Iraqi dinars per dollar, against $809.555 million last week,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by IraqiNews.com news agency. No banks that participated in this week’s five sessions offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. SH (P) 1
