CBI sells $787 million this week

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Demand for the dollar decreased in the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) auctions this week, hitting $787.615 million at a stable exchange rate for the 18th week in a row, compared to last week’s $836.611 million. “The demand hit $266.900 million in cash, compared to $288 million last week, covered by the bank at an exchange rate of ID1,176, while foreign transfers outside the country registered $520.715 million compared to last week’s $635.181 million, covered at an exchange rate of ID1,173,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by IraqiNews.com news agency. None of the banks that participated in this week’s sessions offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. MH (P)/ SH 1
