CBI sells $796m this week

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) dollar sales increased this week to reach $796.882 million compared to last week’s $732.762 million. “This week’s demand hit $29.400 million in cash, covered by the bank at an exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars per dollar, compared to last week’s $26.500 million, while foreign transfers outside the country hit $767.074 million, covered at an exchange rate of 1,173 Iraqi dinars per dollar, against $706.262 million last week,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by Iraqi News. No banks that participated in this week’s five sessions offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. SH (P) 1
