Demand for dollar up this week

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Demand for the dollar went up at the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) auctions this week, registering $774.890 million, compared to $749.790 million in the previous week. The demand hit $232.870 million in cash, covered by the bank at a stable exchange rate of 1,181 and $542.020 million in foreign transfers outside the country covered by the bank at a stable exchange rate also of 1,178 Iraqi dinars per dollar. None of the banks that participated in this week sessions offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. SH (P) 1
