EC grants 10 million euro technical assistance to Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The European Commission in Amman said that it will present technical assistances to the Iraqi institutions with more than 10 million euro. “These assistances will be presented to the Iraqi institutions through a special agreement in cooperation with the Iraqi government,” said the EC in a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The representative of the European Commission in Baghdad described the step as important towards boosting cooperation with the Iraqi government,” the statement added. It is noteworthy that the European Commission had earlier allocated the amount of 20 million euros, was spent by the United Nations, on behalf of the Independent Electoral High Commission in Iraq in order to activate the role of civil society, observers and the media during the campaigns and electoral processes.
