Economic Committee demands results of monitoring government

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Economic Parliamentary Committee confirmed that “The Iraqi Government is continuously under the supervision of the Parliament according to the law,” pointing out that ”There are committees specialized in monitoring the work of the Government in terms of the distribution of the budget, but, these committees did not accomplish any thing until now.”

The Deputy Head of the Committee, MP Ahmed Hassan Faidhullah of the Kurdistani Alliance, mentioned in statement to IraqiNews.com on Wednesday that ”The Iraqi Government is subject to the supervision of the Parliament whether in disbursing the complementary or the investment budget,” stressing that ”Some committees have been formed to monitor the act of the government besides the integrity and financial committees.”

The statement added that ”The committees which are concerned in following the peformance of the government did not accomplish anything until now,” stressing that ”We always assure that the law is above all and the law was derived from the Constitution and so if the law was not applied correctly there will be no Constitution.” \
