Electricity production increases in Kurdistan

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi minister of electricity in Iraq’s Kurdistan on Wednesday reported a significant increase in the production of electricity in the region. “Power generating stations and the national grid will provide us with 650 megawatts of electricity in June and 800 megawatts in July and August,” Minister Hoshyar Suweili said in a press conference. The minister explained that the boost in production will generate electricity for 23 hours a day. Residents of the provinces of Arbil and Sulaimaniya currently receive electricity for 14-16 hours a day. They rely on generators for nearly seven hours a day. SS (P)/SR 1
