Harvesting of wheat, barley starts in Duhuk

DUHUK / IraqiNews.com: A wide-scale campaign to harvest 784,000 donums planted with wheat and barley has been started in Duhuk, according to the province’s agriculture director. “The campaign will start by harvesting barley followed by wheat throughout Duhuk,” Mohammed Ibrahim Ameedi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “There are 595,000 donums ( 1 donum = 2500 square meters) planted with wheat, and 189,000 donums planted with barley,” he said. “Coordination has been made with private companies in this regard to ensure the campaign succeeds,” he added.
