Higher demand for dollar this week

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Demand for the dollar went up at the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) auctions this week, registering $749.790 million, compared to $655.545 million in the previous week. The demand hit $232.545 million in cash, covered by the bank at a stable exchange rate of 1,179, which increased in the last session on Thursday to 1,182 and $517.245 million in foreign transfers outside the country covered by the bank at a stable exchange rate also of 1,176 Iraqi dinars per dollar, which increased also in the last session yesterday to 1,179 Iraqi dinars per dollar. None of the banks that participated in this week sessions offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. SH (P) 1
