ID1.450b to upgrade Kufa tannery

NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: The civil administration in the holy Shiite city of Najaf allocated the sum of 1.450 billion Iraqi dinars (ID), or $1.200 million, to develop al-Kufa tannery, a local official said on Sunday. “The allocations are part of efforts to enhance the industrial sector as a whole,” Hassan al-Zamli, the chairman of the Najaf Provincial Council’s Industry Committee, told IraqiNews.com. Established in 1960, the Kufa tannery, 15 km eastern Najaf, comprises several units to produce several items including sports sneakers and car mats. Najaf lies 180 km west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
