Iraq participates in World Economic Forum in Istanbul

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq is taking part in the first World Economic Forum on Europe and Central Asia which is being held in Istanbul, Turkey, the spokesman for the Iraqi government said in a statement on Friday. “Ali al-Dabagh presented in the opening session on Thursday an explanation on the political and security condition in Iraq and his vision of Iraq ’s future role in the economic integration of the region,” said the statement. The theme of the meeting “Confronting Challenges in Defining a Collaborative Future” reflects more then ever the current state of affairs worldwide and the determination of participants to engage in a constructive dialogue to search for solutions to the current financial and economic crises and to define a path towards a future where the rules of the global playing field are altered. The meeting focuses on five areas such as business opportunities stemming from the crisis, geopolitical moves and rebuilding confidence in political cooperation, energy and resources security, central Asia: redefining the framework of collaboration and its role in the world and Turkey and its leadership role in the region: bridging Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
