Iraq signs contract with Korean Company to supply it with 25 electric stations

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq has signed a contract with a South-Korean company in Baghdad on Wednesday to supply Iraq with 25 electric power stations, with a total capacity of 2,500 MW, according to a statement by the Council of Ministers.   “Iraq, with the presence of Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has signed a contract with a South-Korean company on Wednesday to supply it with 25 electric power stations, to produce 2,500 MW,” the statement, copy of which was received by IraqiNews.com news agency, reported.   “Prime Minister Maliki has thanked the South-Korean delegation, who signed the contract, for its quick response and arrival to Baghdad to sign the contract, agreed upon during Maliki’s recent visit to South Korea , reiterating trust in Korean companies and their high commitment to implement the project in time,” the statement stressed.   The contract was signed by Electricity Minister, Raad Shallal for the Iraqi side and a Representative for the South-Korean Company, with the attendance of Iraq ’s Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristany and the Minister of Industry & Minerals, Ahmed Nasser al-Karbouli.   SKH (IT) 703
