Iraq starts importing electricity power from Syria

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Electricity announced operating the electricity power line used to import electricity power from Syria since last Thursday.

The official spokesperson of the Ministry of Electricity MoE Musab al-Modaris reported to IraqiNews.com that “The national electricity grid has received extra (100 MW) after operating the Iraq-Syria high pressure electricity power line by the engineering and technical cadres of the General Directorate for electricity transmission.”

The State of Iraq imports electricity power from Iran and Turkey to fill in the shortage in the production of electricity power specially during summer season until accomplishing the projects of establishing electricity stations which will cover all the needs of Iraq.
