Iraq to join Gulf trade cartel soon

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq will soon join the Federation of the Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers of Commerce, according to a senior Iraqi trade official on Saturday. “The Federation meeting, to be held within the next few days, will be renamed Gulf Chambers of Commerce Federation. During that session Iraq will be a full member of the Federation’s general secretariat,” Jaafar al-Hamadani, the chief of Iraq ‘s chambers of commerce union, told Iraqi News. Iraq ‘s return to the grouping will grant it a large privilege in the global economic circles and should encourage investment firms to come to Iraq , he said. AmR (P)/SR 1
