Iraqi Kurdistan Region’s Parliament begins discussion of budget, with opposition attendance

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The Parliament of north Iraq ’s Kurdistan Region has held its normal session on Monday to discuss the draft-law on the Region’s budget, with the presence of the opposition forces in the Region, the Parliament’s media advisor said.   “Kurdistan Region’s Parliament has began its session, led by its Speaker, Kamal Kirkuki, to discuss the budget of the Kurdistan Region for 2011, with the attendance of all political forces,” Tareq Jawhar told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Noteworthy is that the three opposition groups in Kurdistan Parliament, the Goran (Change) – 25 seats, the Islamic Union – 6 seats and the Islamic Group – 4 seats, had boycotted the Kurdistan Parliament’s ordinary meetings, demanding the holding of an exceptional session to discuss the crisis, witnessed by the Region, following the demonstrations that took place in Sulaimaniya city on Feb. 17 th last, that continued till April 19 th , before their dispersing by the Peshmerga (Kurdish forces).   SKH (IT)
